Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a compound found in green tea, blocking certain enzymes needed for cancer cells dividing. EGCG does not seem to cause the same effect on normal cell division. Black tea, which is favored by approximately 80 percent of tea drinkers the world, containing less concentration of EGCG than green tea.
